Clermont - 74MW

 

The proposed 74 MW wind farm in Clermont is located on public lands in the ZEC Lac-au-Sable in the MRC de Charlevoix-Est. The ZEC is located north of the municipalities of Clermont, La Baie and St-Aimé-des-Lacs.

EDF EN Canada has secured the land use rights for all public lands in the domain of the State. The wind farm will consist of 37 turbines of 2 megawatts each. Construction is expected to begin late 2014 with commissioning scheduled for December 1, 2015.

Environmental Impact Studies

In Quebec, each wind project of 10 MW and above (Regulation on Assessment and review of impacts on the environment, art. 2.1) is subject to the environmental impacts evaluation process and review under Articles 31.1 and must follow the Act Environmental Quality Act (RSQ, c. Q-2) and be authorized by a government decree.
