The proposed 24.6 MW community wind farm La Mitis is located in the unorganized territory Lac-à-la-Croix in the MRC de La Mitis, administrative region of the Bas-St-Laurent. The wind farm will have 12 turbines with a capacity of 2.05 MW each.
EDF EN Canada recognizes the importance of collaboration and support of local communities in the success of wind energy projects. Consequently, EDF EN Canada wants to encourage community involvement in wind farm project. In this respect, EDF EN Canada believes that developing a project with the MRC is the best way to increase local economic benefits since it is the local group that joins the most people for a given territory.
