Le Granit - 24.6 MW

 

The proposed 24.6 MW wind farm in Le Granit is located on the lands of the municipality of Saint-Robert Bellarmin, in Le Granit RCM, administrative region of the Eastern Townships.  The wind farm will have 12 turbines with a capacity of 2.05 MW each. 

All the infrastructure of the community wind farm Le Granit will be located on private land with the exception of the substation which will be shared with that of the wind project Saint-Robert Bellarmin (80 MW) adn will be located on public lands in the domain of the state.

In Quebec, each wind project of 10 MW and above (Regulation on Assessment and review of impacts on the environment, art. 2.1) is subject to the environmental impacts evaluation process and review under Articles 31.1 and must follow the Act Environmental Quality Act (RSQ, c. Q-2) and be authorized by a government decree.
