Landowners

EDF EN Canada seeks to lease qualifying land from rural landowners to build and operate ground-mounted systems, enhancing the productivity of the property while delivering green electricity to the grid. Landowners in turn receive predictable income for the life of a 20-year contract, at no other cost to them, while leaving the rest to our highly skilled team.

When you partner with EDF EN Canada on a ground-mounted solar plant, you benefit from our integrated approach and exceptional commitment to customer service. We have proven our capabilities to develop, build and operate large-scale projects. In fact, we were one of the first companies to build a utility-scale solar plant in Ontario. See Arnprior Solar Plant.

Using Ontario-based developers , our project development team will manage all aspects of the project – from site analysis and securing permits to ongoing maintenance and long-term asset management. We value our relationships with landowners and other members of the community.

As the Canadian entity of a highly respected global renewable energy company, we enjoy access to a wealth of in-house knowledge and a strong financial position resident within a $7 billion corporation. Our team will be there from the start to the end of your contract.

Construction of a large-scale solar plant usually takes about six months. For the life of the contract, the land owner enjoys regular payments based on quarterly or annual rent. At the end of the contract, we return the land to the same conditions as when project began.

An EDF EN Canada solar project:

  • Provides steady, long-term income – no matter what the weather
  • Does not impact water, air or climate, and leaves no hazardous waste
  • Exercises stewardship for the land and environment
  • Is operated and maintained for the life of the contract
  • Offers the peace of mind that comes with working with a team of specialists from start to finish.
