EDF EN Canada believes every wind project is the beginning of a lasting partnership with the local communities.  Wind energy benefits communities in a variety of ways.  In addition to the electricity generated for the local community, wind energy also provides economic benefits.  Locally, jobs in manufacturing, construction, and wind farm operations are created as a result of project development.  Landowners enjoy an additional income stream, and municipalities benefit from an injection of spending in the community during construction, and from the additional municipal tax revenues paid over the longer term.
